Intercessory prayer is not reserved for a special group of people who have a special gift. God's Word tells us clearly that every Christian is called to it. Christ's sacrifice is complete and perfect - yet Jesus, in his infinite humility, chose man as his partner to renew the world. He desires us, through intercession, to watch over such situations where the Holy Spirit must act powerfully today. He encourages us to decide, like Moses, to stand in the breach and advocate for people wounded by sin.

CYRIL JOHN was born in 1957 in India. Since the 1980s he has been involved with the Catholic Renewal in the Holy Spirit. He is an experienced leader, a coordinator who continuously ministers intercessory prayer. In April 2007, he was elected vice-chairman of the Vatican's International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services council. He lives in New Delhi with his wife and four children.
